Events

As a part of its mandate The Centre for Military and Strategic Studies (CMSS) hosts numerous events and conferences throughout the year. These events range from noon hour talks given by visiting guests to lectures given by invited speakers to conferences and workshops that require the collaboration of groups across campus as well as the private and public sector.

The Centre hosts the Ross Ellis Memorial Lecture in Military and Strategic Studies, an annual lecture series honouring Lt. Colonel Ross Ellis, Commander of the Calgary Highlanders (1915-1983). Dedicated to his leadership abilities and military spirit, the series brings a renowned specialist in military and strategic studies to the University of Calgary, for lectures and seminars open to the University population and the general public.
