Congratulations to Timothy Choi, CMSS PhD Candidate, for being awarded a 2017 Smith Richardson Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship funds three one-year visiting positions, one of which is dedicated to naval and maritime studies, at Yale University’s International Security Studies (ISS) and Brady-Johnson Grand Strategy Programs.
As the Smith Richardson Predoctoral Fellow in Naval, Maritime, and Strategic Studies, Choi will be responsible for delivering talks based on his research, providing a maritime perspective at ISS activities, and supporting Yale’s efforts at becoming a known centre for naval history and maritime security studies. He will also be using the opportunity to advance his dissertation as well as publish papers using the resources available at the Ivy League institution.
The visiting fellowship begins September 1, and though Choi will miss Calgary, he looks forward to all that Yale and US Eastern Seaboard have to offer.
