Kiernan McClelland is a second year thesis-based Master's student enrolled with the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies (CMSS) at the University of Calgary. He is an alumnus of Carleton University and has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with High Distinction in political science with a concentration in international relations. The topic of his undergraduate honours thesis, Rods from God: The Practicality of Kinetic-Energy Space-To-Earth Weapons in Modern Warfare, assessed the utility of developing space-to-earth weapons for the national space policies of the United States, China, and Russia. His current research focuses on the application of military space power by Canada in the 20th and 21st centuries and the impact of military satellite technologies on the development of the Canadian Armed Forces.
